You say I am “Defending the guy”. I referred to him as a monkey, a barking dog, a dysfunctional human being, the death rattle of a dying paradigm, and as someone who would piss on the grave of truth and call it a loser for dying. That hardly qualifies as defending Trump.
“bleak pessimism, sciolism and hate.” It’s not bleak pessimism to look at the bleak truth. I think it takes a good amount of optimism to see things as they are, not as what I need them to be. Nor is it hate to paint a picture that does not agree with your own.
“nonsensical, invective-filled tirade” It’s not a tirade, I specifically said at the top that it is “some random thoughts centered around Donald Trump”. I’m convinced all of it is well-written and a good amount of it is excellent.

I said he lies as naturally as he breathes. By the way, Trump was guilty of tax fraud, sexual assault, and business fraud well before he became president. How come it’s only after he ran against Hillary that Democrats care about that? As a matter of fact, I seem to recall Democrats being greatly amused as he was blowing up the Republican Party. It’s a different story when he blows up your party, though, isn’t it?
“*The voters did not choose Trump.*” Enough of them did to make him president. That he got 1% is an indictment of BOTH parties. I can’t believe anyone would set the bar as low as “better than Trump” or “My candidate got more votes than Donald Trump.”
“Trump’s term was an unmitigated disaster and he will unquestionably go down as the worst president in American history.” I would have liked to think that but Joe Biden is clearly proving you wrong. Not content to get us involved in a proxy war in Ukraine, we are now funneling weapons to abet a Genocide in Gaza.
“Defending the guy…” An honest critique of Democrats is not the same thing as defending Donald Trump. It seems as if the Democrats have completely lost their capacity for self-reflection. If Democrats spent a hundredth the amount of energy fixing their own party as they do foaming at the mouth over Trump, you wouldn’t have to worry about Trump.
P.S. Trump currently has a 5% lead over Biden among Hispanics. Biden (and the Democrats) are losing a sizeable amount of votes among African Americans. And you can kiss Islamic voters and Michigan goodbye. I feel no joy in sharing these facts/projections with you, I merely feel obliged to inject some perspective that Democrats have been ignoring. At some point—and I truly wished and hoped that it would have been after Hillary lost to Trump—Democrats are going to have to improve themselves rather than trying to tear apart others. Even Trump supporters mostly know he’s a monkey, but he’s a monkey who knows how to drive Democrats crazy. That’s his path to victory and you just keep taking the bait. Anyway, that’s just some of my sciolistic thoughts.
