Why If You’re A Liberal You Have To Vote For An Old White Racist Male Who Supports Genocide

Once again I find myself in a position of advocating for a woman candidate to a bunch of identity politics-driven liberals who insist we all vote for a racist old white guy who’s long expressed anti-abortion views. I find it odd.

The argument goes, as near as I can see, is that you can never get a third-party candidate elected. That’s the argument put forward by the Democratic Party mouthpieces, and apparently nobody’s ever stopped to consider that they might just be saying that because it’s what benefits them.

It wasn’t long ago that nobody expected an African American could become president. But he did. I think the sticking point with Jill Stein is she does not belong to one of the two major parties, whereas Barack Obama did. There is a reason, however, why Dr. Jill Stein chose to run as a third-party candidate rather than join the Democratic or Republican Party: because both of the two major parties are hopelessly, irredeemably corrupt. She recognizes — as Kshama Suwant said — that the Democratic Party is where movements go to die. The establishment parties are not avenues for change, they are vehicles for the status quo.
