When The Delusional Lies Of Sociopaths Are Treated Like News

I love it when very serious and well-paid political commentators sit around wondering what the new Syrian government is going to look like. As if they didn’t know. As if there weren’t a well-set precedent they could draw upon in Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere. It’s going to look exactly like how the U.S. and Israel (with a Daesh of Turkey added to the mix) want it to look and that’s never a good thing. Israel is not in the business of doing good turns for their neighbors. Israel has never done one thing that has worked out in their neighbors’ favor. The best Syria can hope for is to become a vassal state like Jordan, where they serve some use to the empire and so are given billions of dollars to at least keep the ruling class happy. If they’re not so fortunate, plan on them being a failed state like Somalia, Haiti, Sudan and Libya have been for many years now. If that’s the case, then plan on the U.S., Turkey and Israel interfering militarily in Syria for as long as those three countries exist. They’ll likely carve it up between the three of them the same way Africa was carved up by the European colonial powers at the Berlin Conference in 1884. Turkey will likely be given free rein to kill Kurds as the U.S. once again betrays them.

This shit never changes, but the people who get to write commentaries for The New York Times and the Washington Post — those people who are supposed to know so much more than the rest of us — somehow never see history as it is repeating itself. Or maybe it’s just that…
