Voting (Sadly) Isn’t The Answer
I have the desire to explain my position on voting because I feel a lot of people don’t understand where I’m coming from and don’t like it when I refuse to take a side, or fail to be consistently on one side. Please allow me to share my perspective for bit, because I believe it is a position most have never seriously considered because a very strong and pervasive propaganda machine — perhaps the most powerful ever constructed — does not want you considering it.
First let me just briefly say I do not lightly suggest that we may well be living in the most propagandized society of all time. While the Catholic Church surely had strong control over what people were supposed to believe, its grasp did not extend into family households. People a thousand years ago had moments of quietude when their own thoughts were permitted to bubble up in their minds. Furthermore, they had a close relationship with the natural world, while the average person of today lacks the perspective a connection to solid reality any peasant of antiquity would have had. Today we live an existence immersed in propaganda. Seldom are we free from it, and often when we are, we are surrounded by other people who echo whatever corporate media has embedded in their brains.
And it is this propaganda machine, all-pervasive and granted a greater authority than any parent or elder could ever hope to be given, which gives us the two options we have.
