Thoughts From 3 Years Ago I Think Have Aged Quite Well

I love coming across things I have written in the past that still resonate with me. In fact, I like many of these so much I am sharing them with you now:

It occurred to me I haven’t shared a random thoughts collection in a while:

It is only natural in a time of crisis for a government to allow slightly less liberties for its citizens. The problem is we’ve been living through two decades of a non-stop rotation of crises and they show no sign of abating, each one further lessening our liberties.

Replacing Trump with Biden is like when they replaced Curly with Shemp.

I would rather have emotionally healthy 5th graders in positions of power than the people who now inhabit them. They should have a gameshow where people of influence are forced to compete against 10 year-olds to see who’s more capable of resolving conflict, finding equitable solutions, and sharing.

Lord of the Flies was a lie, the conceit of the British upper class that children must be molded into something other than what they are biologically inclined to be in order to be functioning adults. And this conceit that they used to force their children into an unnatural society they projected out across the world. In the same way they supposed that they needed to acculturate their children to an unnatural way of living, they did the same to the people they colonized, viewing them as children who needed schooling because they were not molded in such a way as to…
