The War For The Left (Karl Vs. Kamala)

It will be interesting to see who wins the war for the left between those who insist on holding Democrats accountable and those who are willing to tolerate any amount of contempt, corruption and flat-out evil in order to oppose Donald Trump. You’ll notice I didn’t say “effectively oppose” Donald Trump, because losing 2 out of 3 elections to an orange evil moron doesn’t seem very effective.

Oh, I know that the defeat of the Democrats will be blamed on those willing to speak honestly and openly about the shortcomings of the party. For a group that calls itself liberal, it is strikingly illiberal when it comes to welcoming opinions that are contrary to those of their ruling elite. This is what the basic contention is about, one side insisting the other side fall in line and the other refusing to do so. In 2020, establishment Democrats insisted that Joe Biden was fit for office and that anyone who said otherwise was hurting the left’s chances of winning. After the 2024 elections, establishment Democrats blamed racism and misogyny for Kamala Harris’s loss rather than accepting any responsibility for choosing a poor candidate. This is the official canon of those who control the Democratic Party, and anyone who differs from the party line is excommunicated.
