The Path Of Nature Versus The Corporate Path When It Comes To Food
I think a lot of us have had this experience: You walk a while down a road you’ve been warned about taking. You know it’s wrong but you’re trying things out for yourself. And besides, it seems that everybody else is doing it. Deep down, you know it dangerous, but it is not without certain pleasures that are not easily achieved down other paths. It’s a short cut. You know you can turn back any time you want, but at the same time, you know how easy it is to get sucked down that road and how hard it is for so many to come back from it.
Whether it is smoking, reckless partying, promiscuity, or so many other vices, most of us reach a point before we get too far where we decide to turn around because we recognize that the path just leads us deeper into debauchery and chaos and self-destruction.
It is much easier for us who have had some good influences in our lives to turn away. For those who saw their parents and their peers walk that path, many fewer find an alternative. In either case, we are fortunate if we can find positive role models who can show us that other paths not only exist but are preferable to walking the greasy, unhealthy, but very easy path where we never have to struggle uphill.
