The Decline Of Empire Is Accompanied And Accelerated By Delusional Thinking

Once upon a time I feared that the U.S. was much more powerful and their adversaries weaker than they were. Now I have come to see that America’s adversaries were in a much stronger position because they only had to prepare for American attacks in their own backyard while America has had to divide itself to prepare for war against every single nation that was not a vassal state. Add to that the fact that the military industrial complex works for profit, and the extreme amount of spending done by our government on defense has not made our military the greatest fighting force on Earth but a tremendous boondoggle. So much so that a country that has been spending less than a tenth of what the U.S. spends on defense has managed to not merely outproduce the U.S. in weaponry but also the combined production of the U.S. and the entirety of NATO. By an impressive margin.

What the U.S. produces is greatly overpriced, overly complicated, and does not live up to the hype. U.S. aircraft carriers, which have been used to project U.S. military power around the world, have been forced to retreat from the Red Sea due to the threat of Ansarullah, proud fighters of one of the poorest countries on Earth that has no navy of its own. Neither the Iron Dome which the U.S. helps fund nor the combined anti-aircraft might of the U.S. and its allies can protect Israel from the hypersonic missiles which Iran produces. At long last, Africa is throwing off its chains of neo-colonial occupation and kicking…
