I'm not unduly concerned with fascism winning out, as the kind of fascism we are creating in the U.S. is incapable of keeping the trains running on time, or even keeping them on the tracks. While MAGA may be more prone to worshiping a demagogue than Democratic voters are, they're less inclined to tolerate a bossy, centralized government. I think Democratic voters are more inclined to surrender their freedoms to leaders or institutions that promise to do the hard work of creating a just society for them.
