Some Questions Grownups (Even MAGA Grownups) Should Be Asking

Some serious and basic questions for you, the type that anybody should be capable of contemplating, whether they are in fifth grade or in retirement. If you value your freedom, then you’re going to have to prove you are capable of living up to your responsibility as a citizen of this country, because that’s the price of freedom. So think about what I am asking you and write down your answers as we go:

If you bomb somebody, what makes you think that person is not entitled to bomb you back? If you kill people in another country, what makes you think that other country wouldn’t be looking for comeuppance, if only to make you think twice before doing it again? What makes you think you can put military bases all around a country thousands of miles away and not make that country nervous? Resentful? Paranoid? Hateful, even?

If you engage in peace negotiations with another country as a means to lull them into a false sense of security in order to have your proxy army attack them, what makes you think they will ever trust you again? What makes you think any country will ever trust you again? How can you hope to maintain international law when your own country is incapable of holding to its word and its commitments? And how can you hope to have peace and justice in this world when trust and honor do not exist?

If the U.S. demanded Libya give up its WMDs and they did, and then the U.S. (and Europe) overthrew their government, why do you expect Iran would be stupid…
