"negotiating with someone who has proven time and time again that he won't abide by any agreement one day past when it becomes convenient - or is seen as necessary for domestic political reasons - is completely pointless." This is pure projection. The former leaders of France, Germany and Ukraine have all admitted that they West had no intention of abiding by the Minsk accords. Ask Iran if the U.S. abides by its agreements. Ask Iraq, Libya and Syria who agreed to give up their weapons of mass destruction in exchange for the U.S. not attacking them how that worked out. The problem is that the entire history of the U.S. has been a slow expansion of power with no serious repercussions and no need to engage in diplomacy and now it has overextended itself.
