Like anything else, when you've invested years of your life into something and getting to know the ins and outs of how it works, it's not an easy decision to pack up and begin again elsewhere. I tried Twitter as an alternative and the early success I had there died the moment Musk took over. I wrote about Facebook but it more broadly refers to an internet controlled by billionaires. In every aspect of my life I'm trying to find alternatives to working within the system of big capital. I invested early in Panquake as an alternative but that seems to have gone belly up. The long and short of it is I've built a certain amount of followers there and I hate to abandon them and start over. Also, once you reach a certain age, you just get sick of having to learn something new, especially if you have no faith in it being around a few years in the future.
