Fascists In The 21st Century Will Say They’re Fighting Fascism (Using War, Censorship, And The Jailing Of Dissenters)

I hate to see anyone get shot with a rubber bullet, but if U.S. police had to shoot someone, I’m glad it was an Australian reporter. A female one at that. Now I have nothing against Australians, nor reporters, nor women, but I’d like the rest of the world to feel personally invested in what’s going on in the U.S. right now. I like them to know that we’re shooting female foreign journalists, albeit with rubber bullets for the time being. I want the Australian government and media to either express their outrage over it or else reveal themselves by having to downplay the incident.

I don’t doubt that President Trump and a good portion of his supporters in government wouldn’t mind getting a fascist thing going, but I’m starting to think they’re too stupid to pull it off. And the IQ bar for running a fascist state is not the least bit high. Although fascists are not known for their intelligence, there is some degree of competency required to give them the appearance of efficiency. And, for example, DOGE displayed neither competency nor efficiency.

Credit to the ICE agents for being smart enough to cover their faces so they can’t be held responsible for their actions. But they ought to be smart enough to understand that their behavior is clearly revealed and it reflects poorly on the administration.
