Don’t Trade With The Enemy Unless Your Life Depends On It (Resist Giving Strength To Your Oppressor)

There’s this little game I like to play and it’s called Don’t Give Your Money To Corporations. Now I don’t know if there’s any merit in playing this game but I’ve found it quite enjoyable. So let me explain to you for a little bit about how it works and you can tell me if I’m wasting my time or not.

The rules are pretty simple: as I move my token around the game board of life, I look for opportunities to NOT give my money to corporations. Because, as I see it, corporations are basically at the root of all evil, at least in this time and place. Other eras might have had to worry about powerful religious institutions or cruel tyrants, but in the here and now, corporations are calling all the shots. And I don’t know if you’ve noticed this or not, but as much as corporations have run things in the last hundred years, they’re looking to intrude ever further into every aspect of our lives. As bad as it was when I was a child, corporations are looking to insert themselves between every human interaction in ways that could not have been anticipated even a few decades ago. Corporations are not merely after our money and our labor, they’re after our data and our very thought processes.
