It may be that capitalism is the best of all systems, but capitalists are the worst of all people. Capitalism relies on people making choices, which we refer to as the freedom of the market place. Do you really think capitalists want to leave choices up to you? The greatest possible outcome for a capitalist would be to corner the market so that others have no choice but to do business with them.

Do you think capitalists really care about capitalism? No, they care about capital. They would do anything to acquire capital, even if it meant hurting the free market. There has never been a successful capitalist who has not put his personal interests above the ideals of a free market.

And if the capitalist does not care about capitalism, how much less does he care about other things, like the environment, safety, prosperity for the masses, culture, peace?

Do you think that the capitalist cannot enjoy himself while others around him are suffering? No, even in the worst of economies, the richest of capitalists live like royalty while all around them is suffering and starvation. Even in the best of economies, there is more than enough poverty for a capitalist to be concerned about if the suffering of others was a concern of his.
