At bare minimum, stop shoveling coal into the engine. Live outside the system as much as possible. Do whatever ever you can to avoid corporations being intermediaries between you and your fellow human beings. I think people see the problem as so vast that they are looking for a grand solution, and don't worry about the everyday simple things they could and should be doing. If we don't find ways in our personal life to oppose the system, our hypocrisy will make it impossible for others to take us seriously. Plant some vegetables in your backyard, get your jacket zipper repaired by a local seamstress rather than throwing it away and buying a new one. Build community and reject the corporate community that is being established for you.
